Carnival Cruise Lines is often called a family-friendly cruise line. The Carnival ship “Legend”, for example, has a huge recreation area for children called “Noah’s Ark”. Noah’s Ark is divided into three areas: a play area, a computer center, and an arts and crafts area. Tunnels connect the three areas together. One deck below Noah’s Ark is the Gigabytes Arcade, featuring high-tech video games and arcade games. Other children’s activities include a pool with corkscrew waterslide, special children’s menus while dining, and 24 hour pizza and ice cream.
Royal Caribbean can certainly be called family-friendly, as it has suites that will hold up to 16 people. Royal Caribbean has a children’s program called Adventure Ocean. This program offers different activities for children according to their ages, and even gives teenagers their own nightclub. The highly trained youth counselors of the Adventure Ocean program will pick up the kids after they finish eating and entertain them until the adults finish, if desired. Royal Caribbean also offers cruises that are Nickelodeon themed.
Norwegian Cruise Lines offers Nickelodeon themed cruises too, and some that are upcoming will feature the actress Jeannette McCurdy from the popular television show “iCarly”. Other features of these Nickelodeon cruises include poolside games, interactive game shows, and characters like Sponge Bob.
Disney Cruise Lines, which is synonymous with families and fun, also offers its own cruise line with ships that provide tons of fun and entertainment for children. Children can meet their favorite Disney characters, watch live Disney shows or Disney movies, or eat in one of three themed restaurants. The restaurants offer both children’s and adult menus. Disney even offers vacation financing for some of its cruises.
